With a core focus on coal, we also have interests in agriculture, oil, port and exploration and are one of Australia’s top 200 ASX listed companies.New Hope Group is building its Exploration Geology team and with promotion of existing personnel, this role will see you learning and developing practical experience to benefit your university learning experience in what is a very exciting growth phase for New Hope Group.Based at our Corporate Office in Brookwater (with a move to the Brisbane CBD mid-2020), it will require regular interaction with our operating sites near Toowoomba, Ipswich, Bowen/Surat basins and the Hunter Valley.While furthering your Exploration Geologist education, you will be responsible for;Collate incoming data from field exploration activities, while ensuring the effective delivery of validated field data into data acquisition systems.Carry out weekly data audits and provide feedback to field Geologists.Undertake field work when available.Participating in the implementation of the work process model for safe work practices and production at New Hope Coal.Participating in the implementation and management of New Hope Coal’s Exploration Safety & Health Management System and safety initiatives to ensure effective and compliant operations.Responsible for ensuring accurate acquisition and interpretation of the geological/exploration data to ensure the integrity of the data.You will need:To be currently studying and having completed most of your Tertiary qualification in Geology.Ability to work autonomously.A high level of interpersonal skills and strong communication abilities.New Hope is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment with the core objective that our people go home at the end of the day unharmed.
