Based in Acland, a short drive north-west of Toowoomba NAC has played a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since it began operation in October 2002.As our mine continues to grow, we are excited to offer the next great opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our team providing efficient and timely procurement of goods and services to support mining operations.What you will be doing:As the Purchasing Officer, you will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely supply of materials and equipment, to maintain operational effectiveness at New Acland Coal Mine.  Working independently, you will have extensive purchasing experience, strong negotiation skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.      You will achieve success by:Sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing materials, equipment and services in accordance with operational requirement and procurement policies.Maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation using the company’s ERP / procurement system.Negotiating pricing, delivery terms and contracts with suppliers to ensure best value and reliability.Monitoring supplier performance, resolve delivery or quality issues in coordination with internal stakeholders.Collaborating with the inventory and warehouse team to ensure stock levels align with demand and lead times. What you will need to succeed:Minimum of three (3) years purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in the mining, heavy industry or construction sectors.Familiarity with mining procurement systems and supply chain requirements.Certificate IV or Diploma in procurement, supply chain management, business or related field (highly regarded)Valid Queensland Driver’s License and high risk LF forklift license (essential).
