Reporting to the Payroll Lead, the Senior Payroll Officer on a full time, permanent basis will assist in the processing of payroll in a timely and accurate manner and take responsibility for statutory reporting and record management. About the role:Provide support in the end-to-end processing, administration and reporting of payroll.Responsible for the group’s statutory compliance obligations such as Superannuation, PAYGW, Payroll Tax, STP Reporting, Workers Compensation Levy and relevant Enterprise Agreements.Responsible for Coal Long Service Leave processing.Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives of payroll processes. Assist in the training and mentoring of junior team members. Support with payroll queries from employees and other stakeholders. Work collaboratively with HR, Finance and other stakeholders regarding payroll processes and dataAssist in various ad-hoc payroll work. About you: 5+ years’ experience in processing Australian payrolls and managing complex payroll issues within the Mining/ Resources industry preferred.Experience with managing Coal Long Service Leave process.Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities.High level of computer proficiency including intermediate MS Excel skillsExperience with mid-tier Payroll/HRIS systems, such as Pulse, ConnX, Micropay, or similar platforms.Comprehensive understanding of statutory obligations and legislation such as Superannuation, PAYGW, Payroll Tax, STP Reporting and employee entitlements, along with expertise in handling periodic and annual reconciliations for these areas.
